Installation

Requirements#

• Omeka S 3.x or 4.x
• PHP 8.1 or later
• MySQL or MariaDB (any version supported by Omeka S)

The module has no external dependencies and works with any Omeka S file store (local, S3, and so on).

Installing#

1. Copy the AdvancedAssetPicker folder into your Omeka S modules/ directory.
2. Log in to the Omeka S admin panel as a Global Administrator.
3. Go to Admin > Modules and click Install next to AdvancedAssetPicker.

Installation creates three database tables: asset_picker_folder, asset_picker_asset_folder and asset_picker_asset_usage. Existing assets are not modified; they simply appear in the library unfoldered.

After installing, an Asset Library link appears in the admin sidebar and an Insert Asset button appears in every CKEditor toolbar in the admin interface.

Upgrading#

Copy the new version over the existing modules/AdvancedAssetPicker folder, then visit Admin > Modules. If the module shows Upgrade available, click Upgrade.

Uninstalling#

Uninstalling drops the three module tables, which removes all folders, folder assignments and usage records. The assets themselves are not affected: they remain in Omeka's asset table and on disk, and any pages that reference them keep working.

If the module errored during installation and cannot be uninstalled from the admin panel, drop the tables manually and remove the module directory:
