Header layouts

Side rail keeps the site's name, menu and search in a column down the left edge of wide screens, beside the page. Submenus open in place under their item, and the light/dark switch sits at the rail's foot. The rail stays in view as the page scrolls. While the page beside it is narrow (up to 1280 pixels wide), item pages put the wall label under the work.

Top bar puts the name on the left and the menu, search and buttons on the right. A long menu moves to its own row on mid-size screens.

Over the image is a top bar that floats on the first image of a landing page: a page with the Landing page template whose first block is a hero banner. The bar lies on a dark band that fades into the image, so white text stays readable on any picture. Choose a Logo for dark mode (under Dark mode) to show a light logo on the band. On every other page, and once the page scrolls with a sticky header, it is a plain top bar.

On phones and tablets, every layout is a top bar with a menu button that opens the menu as a panel.

Announcement bar

A short notice above the header on every page, such as opening hours or a new exhibition. Announcement takes text and links; Announcement bar color is secondary, primary, accent, dark or lightly tinted.
